Elmshorn, 22 March 2016 – star petrol stations will be the main sponsor of the record-holding German handball champions as of the coming season.Almost four decades after the introduction of shirt advertising in handball, THW Kiel will be lining up with a new main sponsor on the front of their shirts for the first time in the coming season. Along with their logo on the record-holders' shirts and the TV banners around the Sparkassen-Arena, star petrol stations will also have a presence on the online and social media channels of THW Kiel.

star has been a partner for THW Kiel since the 2011/12 season. The charity campaign “Handball Goals for a Good Cause” was initiated during this period, leading to donations amounting to more than EUR 20,000 to the children's cancer ward of Kiel University Hospital. star will also be increasingly involved in future in the champions' academy work and the encouragement of young talent.
