In a test phase the star petrol stations will be examining early on what optimisation potential exists for the card business. The national findings of the test phase are to be used within the petrochemicals group PKN ORLEN to shape the future European alignment of the card business.
The European Commission is planning to largely harmonise the debit market, which will give rise to various options for payment systems in the European card market in the future. The test in the network of star petrol stations will start with the processing of V PAY for both international and German cardholders. "ORLEN is interested in achieving a permanent optimisation of the card business: In addition to the best possible convenience and service for customers paying by card, we also need a costefficient, high-tech solution," explained Oliver Behrens, Non-Cash Transactions Manager for the star petrol stations.
