ORLEN Deutschland and Bartels-Langness commission first joint fast-charging site

05-08-2026

ORLEN Deutschland and Bartels-Langness (Bela) have commissioned their first joint fast-charging site at the Markant store in Kropp. With six charging points and a capacity of up to 400 kW, the site marks the start of a strategic partnership that provides for the development of fast-charging infrastructure at up to 26 famila and Markant locations in northern Germany.

At the Kropp site, customers now have access to six fast-charging points with a charging capacity of up to 400 kW. This allows electric vehicles to be charged in a short time while customers shop at Markant. Construction began on May 8, 2026, and was successfully completed after around seven weeks on June 26, 2026.

The new charging park combines high-performance charging infrastructure with consumers’ everyday routines. At the same time, the commissioning in Kropp underscores the importance of strong partnerships for the further expansion of electric mobility in Germany.

Dennis Kulbach, Chief Operating Officer of ORLEN Deutschland GmbH, explains: “The commissioning of the first joint site with Bela is a visible sign of the strength of our partnerships. Together with strong retail partners, we are creating high-performance charging infrastructure where people spend their everyday lives. The charging site in Kropp is the successful start of a collaboration through which we will further advance electric mobility in northern Germany and systematically expand our fast-charging network.”

The spacious location at the Markant store offers ideal conditions for convenient charging while shopping. “Because the parking spaces are publicly accessible, the EV charging stations can be used around the clock and independently of a visit to the store,” adds Christian Lahrtz, Managing Director of famila and Markant. “We are pleased to be making an important contribution to the mobility transition by expanding charging options at our locations.” The new infrastructure strengthens the regional supply of high-performance fast-charging options and at the same time contributes to the further expansion of electric mobility in Schleswig-Holstein.

Today, the ORLEN Charge network already comprises 238 fast-charging points. Through the continuous expansion of its own sites and in cooperation with strong partners, ORLEN Deutschland is pursuing its goal of making electric mobility even simpler and more suitable for everyday use.

ORLEN Deutschland will continue to focus on expanding charging infrastructure through its own investments and strong partnerships. The company is pursuing an ambitious goal: by the end of 2030, around 220 sites with a total of 1,150 fast-charging points are to be commissioned. Through its collaboration with Bela, ORLEN Deutschland is strengthening its presence in urban and suburban areas and further advancing the development of sustainable mobility. ORLEN Charge is also building and expanding its network of fast-charging hubs in Poland, locating them along the main TEN-T transport corridors – at service areas on expressways and motorways. There are currently more than a dozen such facilities operating in Poland, and the network is being supplemented by standalone fast-charging stations in further towns and cities across the country.

About ORLEN Deutschland GmbH
ORLEN Deutschland GmbH was founded in March 2003. It is a 100 per cent subsidiary of the Polish multi-energy group ORLEN S.A. and part of the international ORLEN Group. The company currently operates over 600 ORLEN and star filling stations on the German market. ORLEN Deutschland GmbH, based in Elmshorn, is one of the ten largest filling station operators in Germany and is involved in a wide range of sports and cultural sponsorship activities (e.g. handball, winter sports, music festivals).

In keeping with the claim “Moving forward together”, ORLEN and st
ar filling stations offer high-quality fuels as well as their own shop products at an attractive price-performance ratio. ORLEN Deutschland is increasingly focussing on the expansion of electromobility offerings, alternative, sustainable fuels and the environmentally friendly use of resources. Customers receive additional services such as car washing, ATM and package services at many stations. Filling stations with 'star café' and 'stop.café’ invite customers to take a break in a feel-good atmosphere and offer coffee specialties throughout the day, a wide selection of food, as well as hot and cold snacks.

ORLEN S.A. further expanded its market position in the DACH region at the beginning of 2024 with the acquisition of Turmöl fuel stations. With over 260 stations, ORLEN has a market share of around 10% in Austria, making it one of the three largest owners of fuel station networks in the country.
