ORLEN Deutschland GmbH has acquired 17 automatic petrol stations from the Austrian mineral oil group OMV and will operate these under the new ORLEN express brand in future. The acquisition is part of the strategic expansion of the Elmshorn-based company in southern Germany. With the brands star and ORLEN, ORLEN Deutschland is expanding its petrol station network to over 600 stations nationwide.
The acquisition of the 17 stations in the federal states of Bavaria (13 locations), Baden-Württemberg (3), and Hessen (1) brings the number of petrol stations operated by ORLEN Deutschland to 604. For the time being, the Avanti stations taken over by OMV will continue to operate under the existing brand name, and then, after receiving the official approvals, will gradually be re-flagged to ORLEN express. “This acquisition is an important step in our journey to expanding our network across the country with a focus on southern Germany,” says Piotr Guział, Chief Development Officer of ORLEN Deutschland. All stations are purely automatic petrol stations, operated without staff, laundry service, shop or bistro: A novelty in the ORLEN Deutschland network.
At all new ORLEN express petrol stations, which usually have two pumps with two pump points each, customers are offered quality Super E10, Super E5 and diesel petrol; at the station in Wasserburg am Inn, Super Plus is also available. Payment is cashless, directly at the pump using all common debit and credit cards. ORLEN fleet cards will also be accepted in the future, after gradual replacement of the PIN pads at the local petrol stations within the next few weeks.
