Elmshorn, 13 May 2015 – Kuba Giermaziak (24) displayed an incredible ability to come from behind over the weekend during the first race of this year's Porsche Supercup in Barcelona, coming from ninth on the grid to finish in a spectacular second place. Giermaziak, who finished in second place overall last year, is driving again for the VERVA Lechner Racing Team, which is in turn again being sponsored by star petrol stations.
VERVA Lechner's incredible team result in Barcelona was rounded out by rookie Connor de Phillippi (22). In his very first race, the American achieved a very strong finish in 11th place, propelling VERVA Lechner to 1st place in the team rankings from the very beginning of the season.
The partnership between star petrol stations and Kuba Giermaziak, who was 20 at the time, began four years ago. star recognised the now internationallyrenowned driver's talent early on and has stood by him ever since, even during some difficult periods. "Just as our young and dynamic brand has continuously increased its popularity and image in recent years, Kuba has gone from success to success in incredible style since the beginning of our partnership," said Michal Brylinski, Chairman of the Board of star petrol stations, at the race in Barcelona.
Wieslaw Milkiewicz, Managing Director and spokesman for star petrol stations, is convinced that Kuba will build on his success from last year and has every chance to finish in first place: "This breath-taking start to the new season has made us very, very impatient for the next race. We want to congratulate Kuba and the entire team for their amazing performance in Barcelona and look forward to many shared successes throughout the 2015 season."
