Elmshorn, 24th of September 2020 – That was truly unexpected: petrol station partner Andrea Lennig and her team are still filled with emotion when they report on what happened: "A car pulled up at the petrol station this morning and a young woman jumped out and started running up and down, clearly panicked." It was the mum-to- be's sister. The pregnant woman was in the car — on the verge of giving birth.
The two had just set out together for the hospital when the birth suddenly seemed imminent. But with all the construction sites in and around town, they were struggling to get through Duisburg during rush hour. Hence the stop at the star petrol station.
'Our staff were immediately on hand to help, called an ambulance, and helped the women keep calm,' reported Andrea Lennig. The ambulance made it to the station before the birth, but did not have time for the drive to the hospital. The baby was in such a hurry that the birth took place inside the ambulance on the forecourt of the petrol station. At about nine o'clock, the healthy baby girl was born.
The new dad, who was not able to be there during the birth, is over the moon that everything went well in the end and that both mother and daughter are well. He first got to meet his daughter, Reyyan, at the hospital and immediately sent the team at the petrol station a picture. "So many things happen at petrol stations, but a birth is something we won't forget any time soon. Such a beautiful experience," said Andrea Lennig. The star petrol station team and ORLEN Deutschland wish the young family all the best — and there is a little gift for the new star on its way to the parents.
